You sure it isn't a dodgy brake light switch under the pedal ? .

Just can back from a short drive, the air suspension lights and the cluster lights stay on after the key is removed showing the P light or a faint handbrake light. This is along with the brake lights on. I checked the resistance of the switch at the different positions and at 0, there is no contact between any two pins.

It does feel as though things go wrong more often than not, when its working its absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to drive. However, when the issues do come, they all come at once.

In days of slow speed electirckery, a dim light on when it shouldn't be could indicate a bad earth. Seem to have seen some such points on here. And, yep, there are lots on the FF, may be a place to consider. I've also had numerous faults come up on the IID when my battery began to fail, some having a resemblence to your list.

I've checked the ground points in both A pillars, I'm using the wiring diagrams for the X5 3.0D, it's shows its connected to the passenger side A pillar ground connector. There was no corrosion and both the connector and the grounding point were clean.

The lights are still illuminated, but in a stobe light fashion, on-off-on. The car does sleep and no lights are on the gear indicator.

So the brake lights have a signal from the HDC that is independent of the ignition, I'll have a look at voltages at the LCM and get back to you |

It’s not by any chance a follow me home function is it? I’ve seen this on my IID where you can specify particular lights to come on for a set time after turning the car off. |

They don't have any association with the follow me home lights.

Have a look at the ABS electrical connector under the bonnet, theses can get furred up and corroded and cause all sorts of apparently unrelated issues. Also the steering lock faults? What is the issue there? Again steering faults tend to daisy chain. And check your LCM for damp/corrosion. .

In regards to the steering lock, there are no issues with it and it works absolutely fine.
