110ah battery fit

I have a new 110ah battery on my TD6 and I’ve just tried to fit it to the TDV8

It goes in but the positive cable looks like it’s meant to sit down the side of the battery but there is no room

The car was supplied with a 110ah battery according to the build sheet.

Anyone else had this and how did you get around it?

Ur -- this is covered in other posts -- not least one of my own, whilst an 020 battery will fit earlier models, 2010-2012 will only accept a 019 -- amp-hours aren't always related to size!

The battery should be AGM -- but as in other threads I'm testing a non AGM solution as it came with a 5 year warranty and was specified by Halfords for the car -- whilst the battery isn't knackered yet I can report it wouldn't start the car on one occasion so far Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thanks. It’s got a 100aH /900a on at the moment which I’m told was new in November. However there is no receipt with it and it’s got a 5 yr warranty.
I take it a 100aH is plenty for this car?

Well mine is this: -

Yuasa HSB019 -- which is 100Ah -- and a CCA of 900 Amps

They also do the HSB020 which is 110Ah, cheaper to buy, so I started with that one -- and found the same problem you're having -- it don't fit! -- and actually it doesn't fit front to back either -- I could only just about get the clamp on it in a modified state -- fortunately I could unmodify it to fit the 019 Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

If it is the same as the HSB019 then it's the wrong one for the car -- the HSB019 is not an AGM battery -- and the car should have an AGM battery fitted

Though I suspect that if you run your reg at the Halfords web site it will suggest the HSB019, as it did for me Sad Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Where does it say it has to have an AGM battery then?

Most earlier versions of the 10MY were fitted with non AGM and were subject to a recall to fit AGM I believe.

Search for threads here -- there's a few!

But here's mine: -

you MUST fit the correct battery type agm or NON agm depending upon what your car is expecting. I've been through the painfull loop of trying the cheaper (but incorrect) option.

My car is 2010 so i assume newer cars such as your also require agm.

Dolph, did you manage that and still have the scuttle drain pipe connected? Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
