I thought it was just the binary nature of digital radio that made my DAB signal cut out so frequently but the other day I drove a hire car on my regular commute and didn't lose signal at all.

This tells me the DAB signal is fine and my RR's reception is rubbish.

Anything I can do to improve matters? Bish.

i get the same problem and put it down to interference from my rear dash cam...

bang on the money some cables are better shielded than others ariel amp pickup noise
worse 1 I ever had was a reverse camera that had ignition supply knocked out Dab completely

Mine is total rubbish as well and whenever the reverse camera is on the DAB dies.

Would replacing the cables with decent shielded ones make it a lot better?

It can help but the cables are a lot thicker therefore harder to hide
I usually use BlackVue and don’t have too many issues
Have you tried draping the cable to see if moving it reduces the
Interference that’s what I would do first
I know we all like bargains but the cabling on stuff from a certain
Continent can be so bad you can’t even solder it

just to throw a spanner in the works, every time I take mine to the dealers for a repair the DAB radio performs so much better for about a month after and then slowly deteriorates. Just before it goes in the channel change is very slow i.e. a few seconds delay before you hear sound, if I take it in for anything it always comes out as though it is a new unit. I queried it with the dealers to see if they do anything while it is there that could improve the speed and strength and they said they do nothing at all that could address the issue I describe....still does it though... I need more help than most...sorry !!

I wonder if fitting another aerial amplifier in series would help solve the drop-outs?
