IIRC when I finally got my local dealer to look at it, I did so by insisting they waited at the entrance so that when i arrived and parked up, they could get smell the odour. The technician immediaetly lifetd th bonnet and inspected the engine between the vee, and quickly found where the cooler had been spraying oil onto one inner side of the vee....there was enough moisture/stain for him to get dirty fingers when he wiped his hand along the block.
