There nothing that LR owners seem to enjoy more than sharing a report on poor reliability! Laughing Now, why is that? Rolling Eyes

As an aside and at the other end of the scale, I’ve owned two BMW MINI’s from new and while they weren’t bad, I wouldn’t buy another to depend on to earn living - not in the way that I do with the Range Rover Thumbs Up

My mate recently bought a BMW 3 series 1.6. 16 plate and 37k miles....after telling me how expensive / unreliable Rangeys were and that mine was way too old.... Fast forward three months and the garage have told him his car needs £3-5k of work doing to it...

My theory is that a lot of these surveys go against Rangeys because as they cost so much new, the owners expect perfection and so every little niggle will be remembered. Having run two L322s over three years...both ten years old or older and over 125k miles, I have still yet to have anything actually break, other than one brake pipe rust through.

Am off to the New Forest in it for a week today, so I hope I haven't just cursed myself!🤣

Seriously, it is interesting - in the 3 FF's we've had I haven't noticed any worse reliability than any other car we've had - in fact we depend on ours heavily and have never been left stranded - either with or without the caravan on tow. Once a year we do a UK tour with the 'van which comes in at about 2000 miles all in and whilst we've had breakdowns on these long trips, nothing that wasn't fixable there and then.

Its still only 2 problems per vehicle and it might have been the same problem twice Whistle Whistle

I’d like to see these figures adjusted to take mileage into account. With a “problems, per 100 vehicles, per mile” figure, these numbers are meaningless. Back to the MINI example again, how many clock up tens of thousands of miles a year? The Lexuses (Lexi?) won’t break down in the permanent moorings outside the golf club either! Wink

Here is the humour...set off for the New Forest and within six miles I got a bong, an abs warning light and a warning message about HDC and the suspension lowering! Me and my big mouth..😂

That said, after a stop and a restart everything seems fine..she has got us the 250 odd miles without further incident....for now!😏

You see, don't you love it when your car just tells you off:
"don"t write about me.." and then sets off again to serve you well.
enjoy the forrest, old or new Thumbs Up
