Strange noise, every time

Now this is odd, I have asked questions on the forum before but never something like this.

About 2 to 3 minutes after starting the car and driving I hear a funny noise that can be best described as somewhere between a low groan and a trump from somewhere around the passenger seat. It happens both with and without a passenger and my family have had enough of my asking them if they let something go.

Despite my poor attempt at humour this is a serious request to ask if anyone else has experienced this and can shed some light on what might be causing it.

Thanks in advance.

Air being released from the seat inflatable cushions?

That sounds quite logical but could it suggest a failing of the seat air cushion? It only started a few weeks ago and the car has about 37,000 miles.

Have you got the passenger seat auto massage set to on? If yes, it comes on after five mins of driving... This would make the noise your describing sir...

Well that is an interesting idea that I will check tomorrow and report back.

Thank for this input Craig, a very credible possibility. My kids love the massage seats do anything is possible.

dfulgo is correct that it is only the drivers side that can be set to come on automatically and when I checked found that was already set to "off", I only use the massage function on longer journeys anyway. I couldn't see any settings to bring the passenger side on without doing it manually.

Therefore, I'm no nearer really except that after I had checked all the settings without changing anything it seemed to not make the noise, until about two days later and it did not just once.

Hence, intermittent fault that is more annoying than anything.

Does no one else get a strange trumping type noise from the passenger seat? Comments about the wife or other passengers will not be considered as being helpful Very Happy

Have you stopped the car and looked? Does it make the noise when stationary? Only with a passenger using the seat for example?

I also have a strange creaking or groaning , its seems to come from under the fridge between the seats , its very pronounced on first few hundred yards from cold in freezing temps . I reverse down my drive and as I go into drive it sounds like two balloons being rubbed together and it happens again a few hundred yards later . Hardly ever happens in the warm temperatures . Special programs is off so as to prevent the centre diff from locking automatically in sub zero temps ! Is this a problem in the making or just a "feature" LOL
