Does a 2012 4.4tdi only have one EGR valve? |

Definitely only 1 EGR valve, with the exhaust feed from about the middle of the cross-over pipe. |

Was scanning through the blanking plates on e.bay and noticed that for a late l322 they only offer a single plate. When I had an earlier Disco it was all the rage to blank them off but they had two. |

Looking at the comments about blanking off the EGR on 11MYs, I think it's not possible with them as its part of the system required for emission control etc. to meet the requirements brought in. Removing the EGR bits will make the FF fail the MOT.

If be more concerned about the role EGRs play in the DPF cycle. I thought they were essential to the regen function? Without a functioning EGR I think the DPF will simply soot up. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

(They are required for the MoT but practically speaking it's not possible for the tester to tell they've been blanked} 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

During DPF re-gens the EGR valve is closed to ensure that the correct amount of unburnt fuel and oxygen goes to the catalytic converter for it to produce enough heat for the DPF to do the regen. However I don't know if a blocked EGR valve might contribute to excessive particulates being produced which might therefore cause the DPF to clog more quickly. |

My remap chap said I have a fault code for the EGR, it does not show up on the dash, he has turned the EGR off in the map and I have inserted a blank. He assures me he has does this numerous times and it has never affect the DPF. He will come and turn the ERG back on if I decide to replace the faulty EGR. Time will tell, I intend to use the car for a lot of short journeys and try to bring the DPF light into play, then Italian tune it to see if it will clear. |

I dought it will fail on emissions as the engine will be running cleaner, I believe people with a smokey car have blanked their EGRs to get their car through the MOT. |

My understanding is the 4.4 tdv8 with the DPF cannot have EGRs blanked....? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Took the car to a MOT station yesterday to have the emissions tested, results below: He tells me they are as good a result as you can get. ie I am taking my car to see my Indy next, I will have covered about 300 mixed miles by then, he is going to check out the system for any error codes. |
