Please walk away from the dealer - and indeed name them here.
In fact don't just walk away, tell them you are going to walk away and why. Dealers will only learn when it starts to hit them in their bottom line.

I had a very interesting conversation recently on holiday with someone who said they worked for Jaguar Landrover on the sales side of things working with the Main Dealer franchises. While professionalism limited what they could say, it seems that JLR know they have a problem with many franchises attitude to customers but there is little that they are either prepared to do or in fact can do....as long as targets for the number of new units sold are met.....

As I say, dealers will do little to change their customer service until their bottom lines start to get hit and dealer principals (or whatever they call themselves these days) can't spend as many days on the golf course. Laughing

United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Indus Silver

I bought a LR approved L405 in March and within 50 miles I noticed a stone chip in the windscreen on the passenger side, I hadn’t noticed this on inspection prior to purchasing the vehicle. After checking the vehicle service history of could find no record of the brake fluid having been changed, on contacting the LR dealer they said bring the car back and we will replace the screen and change the brake fluid, during the journey to return the car I found the air con not to be working, I told them on arrival and told me it would be fixed, it was. These things should have been picked up on the “165 point” check in the first place but fair play to the LR dealer the faults were rectified with no quibble. The car has now developed a small vibration (4 months after purchase) under braking and offside front disc is corroded around the circumference about 25mm down the disc, again no quibble from the dealer on replacing front discs and pads FOC. I have no doubt different dealers offer different levels of customer service, I can’t complain about mine now I have found the correct people within the organisation to speak to instead of speaking to someone who has no idea what they are talking about and tells you to “ring Land Rover assistance “ or “we don’t do investigative work on a Saturday”

As above, walk away. Why would you put yourself in that situation and give them your money. Be the sensible buyer and find another car at another dealer, but let them know why. Don't get sucked in.

Steve.

Is there any chance that you could re-post the 165 point check in a less compressed form please Baltic Blue?

Based on some approved cars I have looked at they have absolutely not had the check, they get washed and hoovered and bunged on the forecourt, certainly appears that way Whistle

I suspect that the check doesnt get done until the car is sold! Dealers rely on basic checks when they buy the cars in and use the 165 point check as a selling point and a way of ‘PDIing’ the cars. I’ve looked at the one in the Wiki section of this site and can see it’s been ‘done’ by the ticks - must’ve been a perfect car as nothing whatsoever needed any attention Rolling with laughter
