Actually, still worth checking if any of the top hoses have split.... .

Could also be one of the large hoses from the intercooler to the intercooler has a split?

It happens when foot down hard or going up hill. |

Same as mine. Most people found a split inlet manifold as the cause of this problem but not me. Basically the MAPT sensor (manifold air pressure and temp) detects the amount of pressure being delivered by the turbo. If there is an unexpected difference over a short period of time between what the sensor sees and what it thinks should be there it throws the fault.

Thanks Nick, is this maft sensor bolted into the manifold ? I'm a bit lost, not sure what to look for. |

Take the plastic engine cover off. Look at where the two large intercooler hoses are connected to each side of the manifold. On the top of each side of the manifold just behind the hoseclip there is a sensor held in by a single screw. It has a grey plug. Remove the plug, undo the screw and pull the sensor vertically up and out. It has an o ring seal and should be easy to remove. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8 |
