Wireless Phone Charging...Anyone

Afternoon,

I've just bought a 2014 AB and wanted to add some form of wireless phone charging as I hate cables and have it in my other car.

I was considering adding the pad to the top of the centre arm rest like in a Chevrolet https://www.air-charge.com/aircharge-for-b...s-charging then came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKyXc6PDmcM and thought this looks a really good idea.

Has anyone done anything like this ? I guess I could mod the tray and add a charging coil underneath although the guy in the video looks to have fabricated a new tray.

I haven't got my car yet ( arrives next week ) so can anyone confirm if an iPhone Xs fits flat in the tray ?

Thanks

Si

I bought one of these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Qi-Fas...2749.l2649

It is quite big to fit my phone, so doesn't quite push down fully into the cup holder but it works!

Unnecessary quote removed

Hi Si,

I like the look of the open dot technology, but no idea if this is available in the UK yet. The I-Phone X is not an exact fit and hangs over the edge of the tray indents, however the armrest still closes without fouling the phone.

Cheers,

That video was from 2015 and there is no reference to anything like this on their website so assume it was a proof of concept or something

Who close to fitting is the iPhone X ? Any chance of a picture ? Could it be cut away slightly to make it fit ?

Si

I changed the leather cover on my centre armrest/cubby box lid the other week and thought you would appreciate knowing that these on the 405 do NOT come apart like the 322 ones did with screws... The 405 one is sonic welded together so, nigh on impossible to strip apart... Thumbs Up
