Thanks everyone for your input. Both dealers have advised the 5th service is a major at £545 inc vat. The rest is what LR say should also be done at an extra cost of £300 inc vat. I want to do the right thing but at only 18k is this considered worthwhile to you seasoned owners Thumbs Up 718 GT4

Don, low millage cars can be worse for oil degradation in certain circumstances sir... Ive just changed mine, a year early as i believe firmly in preventative maintenance!

Stops some of the wife's nagging & it increases her confidence when things work! (she own's a JLR too)

Just had ours done and had to insist the full service was done, dealer was quite happy to just do the £500 oil and filter service and not do dynamic response fluid, transfer box and rear diff oils Shocked Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Just had my 5th annual service carried out by my local Land Rover specialist. The car has been maintained by the supplying/franchised dealer previously, but when they quoted over £600 for this interim service, I decided to look elsewhere.
My car has covered 30k miles and been serviced on its birthday each year. As the independent garage uses genuine LR parts my extended warranty is safe. Brake fluid is recommended to be changed at 3 year intervals, so the only other cost for this service is the transfer box oil. (and locking rear dif oil if fitted) I am very happy with the quality of service and paid £420 fully inclusive of parts and VAT.

6th year service due - thoughts

Hi
I have used North Eastern 4x4 for my last 3 services.(NoI don't work for them and this is my experience) Smile
Main warranty covered. Very Happy

All genuine parts. Very pleased with all work they have done and at a huge difference to the main dealers £205 for small service and £285 for big. Thumbs Up

Sorry about hijacking this post but I'm in a similar boat, just bought my RR knowing it had a minor service due. It has full service history, initially LR then more recently by Les Potts, a local independent. It's now due the 90k/6th service which is a minor service. Les Potts quote around £400.

North Eastern 4x4 would be £205 for the same, my question is are they offering the same service? e.g. will the LR held service record be updated by NE 4x4 in the same was as Les Potts has been?

Had my 5 year service done last week £795 inc vat
The maintenance sheet has everything ticked off
Inc dynamic response reservoir and electronic diff oil replaced
On closer inspection there is no mention of diff oil on the invoice and dynamic response reservoir has clearly not been replaced nor mentioned in the invoice
???
Think the dealers are due a call now 😡😡 Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

Mine is due its 6yr service in about 4 weeks time, just been quoted £593.28 plus £59.95 if I opt to have the brake fluid changed as well. (Lookers Chelmsford)

It seems there is quite a disparity on pricing now. Out of morbid curiosity i asked about the 7 yr Belt changes service for next year and that came in at £1187.63.

I might give the other dealers that are less local a call and see where they are on price.

Hi everyone

My 4.4 l405 2016 is due its 5th year service, it was serviced last year at main dealers in Edenbridge. Its covered 58000 miles now. I was wondering if the fixed price servicing is still available as can't find any details online anymore and also the MD has quoted 890 pounds incl of vat. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also the 2 year LR warranty runs out this August, would people here renew? Touch wood I haven't had to claim anything on it yet?

Regards

£890 sounds about right for the proper LR service which includes the dynamic response fluid the actual bottle and transfer box / rear diff oils... not sure i would skip the transfer and diff oils personally, I paid MD but I think I’d rather go independent than not have them done on the basic service. Our MD actually quoted the fixed pricing first off, we had to query the additional items which was a little odd.

Btw ours is a MY16 and it’s had a few things under the LR warranty this year but nothing that would add up to the cost of the warranty, considering renewal myself as well... Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
