Yes, open as normal and force close the top manually - it’s an effing pain but it’s the only way. It’s necessary to do this if loading a roof rack or roof bars e.g. with a long load such as a Kayak. No harm seems to occur though.

Land Rover are stupid - they have no concept of where, how or what features a RR user needs. With the tailgate they also need to factor in that we need a Gesture Tailgate disable. It’s a bloody pain when you are in the boot at a shoot for example with dogs milling round and they trigger the sensor and the boot try’s to close trapping you in it - every week this happens - fed up of it  2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
