does anyone know if this can be done with the IID Tool, or if its main dealer only, mine does it and at high speed when you lift off its really disconcerting and annoying.

Sorry to reassurect an old thread. But would any of the updates to the IID tool now allow this to be done?

Comment from Marsie that the 8 speed gearbox cannot be flushed.

Plenty of threads on this forum about 8 speeds being flushed, or am I mistaken?

I was more referring to the software update mentioned in the TSB, and if it could now be done by the IID tool, or is it still a dealer visit.

Regards

trickier to flush the 8 speed as there is a thermostat in the oil cooler lines so that needs to be open to flush using the cooler lines as they do on the 6 sp and 5 sp, its not electronical so would need actua fluidl heat to open but then as soon as you put cool oil in it will shut.

Lots of folks changing the oil, incl me, but not sure about flushing. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If the IID tool shows that a SW upgrade is available when scanned you should be able to get it from GAP - or at least ask them 4.4 AdBlu Tractor Stolen
4.2 SC - sold

Thanks M@tt. I’ll have a look tomorrow. I believe the upgrade is located in the PCM section

Millerj90, did you find anything more out about this? I'd be interested to know if mine has it as it does seem to suffer from hesitation. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Kooky
Sorry not had the time, or inclination due to cold weather to get out with my IID tool to see if any of the available GAP updates satisfy the requirement.

I’m also a bit loathed to apply and update in the drive. If it goes wrong you’re FUBARBed. If the garage screw it up, they’ve got to sort it.

I’ll update this thread as soon as I get around to it.

John

I’ve been i. Touch wth the great guysfrom GAP. Patrick has informed me that the PCM reflash via the IID tool is unlikely to clear the problems mentioned in LTB00454v2 - Engine Hesitation

Can you guys, who have done the PCM update by LTB00454v2, share your PCM (or ECM) data? I want to know if mine has been done, so need comparsion data. I've also felt a juddering few times, while cruising at highway speeds over 110 km/h. Really worrysome feeling.
My PCM data is here:

PCM-Engine TDV8 4.4L (No update found)

Assembly (F113)
BH42-12A650-NAD

Calibration (F124)
BH42-12K532-NTL

Hardware (F111)
BH42-12B684-NA

Serial
1373020506111015

Strategy (F188)
BH42-14C204-NTD

Hope someone would find a minute to pull and share data. Smile
Cheers
Keijo

Had my box updated last month;
Assembly Part number: BH42-7Z369-HK
Hardware Part Number BH42-14C247-HB
Software Bootloader part number: BH42-7J244-HB.vbf
Didn't have any hesitation issues before this update. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Mine was updated supposedly to the latest level for a non-DPF engine June 2020.

Assembly (F113) BH42-12A650-NAD -> BH42-12A650-NCK
Calibration (F124) BH42-12K532-NCK = Up-to-date
Hardware (F111) BH42-12B684-NA = Up-to-date
Strategy (F188) BH42-14C204-NTD = Up-to-date

This suggests that the assembly component isn't at the latest level but the update fixed the light surge at 110 kph when using cruise control.

Prior to the update:

Assembly (F113) BH42-12A650-NAC -> BH42-12A650-NCK
Calibration (F124) BH42-12K532-NCH -> BH42-12K532-NCK
Strategy (F188) BH42-14C204-NTC -> BH42-14C204-NTD

I must check the current status having just had EGR disabled and a light tune to see if its any different, which I doubt.
