Doing the usual pre-mot checks before the car goes in and the BF noticed this oddity. He was a bit miffed as to whether it was just being a Land Rover or if it is a sign of a fault...

So the IID tool is showing no faults suspension wise. It has had a replacement offside front height sensor and nearside rear sensor. The brass filter on the pump has been cleaned and it has two brand new front Arnott airbags in the last 1000 miles. The front airblock behind the drivers wheel is also brand new.

So the offside front and nearside rear tyre are noticeably more compressed by the suspension then the other opposing two. The car is parked on a flat garage floor and the height calibrated by the IID tool. However in guided calibration we are unable to alter the height up or down by the arrows for the nearside front only. Every other wheel you can?? Manual calibration seems to work ok....

Is this normal? If you squeeze or push the airbag the side compressing the tyres are solid the opposing side you can actually just about get some flex in the bag by pushing hard.

All the tyre pressures at the recommended 33/36psi also......

Any ideas?

I don't know what your thinking is but the suspension settings has no influence on tyre pressures.
Looks to me one tyre could do with a bit air in maybe though.

double check the tyre pressures again...it could be the valve is blocked and giving you a false reading..

As above two fronts are at 33 psi and the rears 36 psi checked with two different pressure tests and also on his air compressor.... so it's not tyre pressure related

I believe this is physically possible (if not technically!)

One set of opposite corners without as much pressure being held in place by the other opposite corners, hence all the (most of) weight going down through the corners with decent pressure in the airbags.

Analogy: a 4 legged table with one (or two opposite the one) leg /s shorter than the other

Now as to the how this could happen I am still thinking about that! Engineers and scientists flame away

I may have observed similar on my old FFRR but just put it down to tyre pressures / parking or steering position .

Is the care on an incline and self-levelling?
Might create uneven pressure?

Or are the sensors on those corners reporting back incorrectly (but still within range, therefore no faults reported) ? .

Are the measurements from floor to wheel arch equal all round / side to side?
The air pressure would be identical side to side ONLY if the vehicle mass is equally distributed side to side.

Imagine putting a few sacks of sand in the boot on just one side.
After self leveling, the airbag pressure on that side rear would have increased.
