Mercedes Sprinter Jack

After owning my fatty for 3 years and reading numerous posts on the subject I finally got round to buying a Sprinter Jack and adding the ally location pad to it.
I bought a 16mm stepped drill and some M6 grub screws, after drilling the 16mm hole drilled a 4mm hole at right angles then drilled and tapped M6 x 10mm deep at each end of the hole. Pushed in a 4mm x 45mm long pin then screwed in the grub screws each side to close the hole. I know its a bit OTT, bored retired engineer that's my excuse.

Strider,

That's a very dangerous statement !

Would you like to join the 'engineering team' for the group buys we have going on supplying these?

Thanks

One of my friends has decided to add the ally pad to his recently purchased Mercedes Jack, so for those of you prepared to “have a go”.
I bought mine from Creation Motorsport for £9.99 on ebay. I think they are out of stock at the moment with a new silly price of £170+. The holes I drilled carefully by using a hand held electric drill. The grub screws are a bit of a luxury, if you don’t want to go that route just press a pin in, fill the open hole ends with araldite or any suitable sealant. The pin doesn't carry any loading its just to stop the pad falling off.

If anyone wanting one adds the advert to their watch list, then they will get an email alert when they are re-advertised at the low price. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

I used the roll pin from the jack to hold the pad on. Drilled a hole just the right size to hold itself in Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hi,
I created a 3D solid model of the pad, from that a manufacturing drawing. Below is a pic of a sectioned view showing the depth of approx' 14.5mm (measured using full diameter not the drill tip.
