For having driven both the 4.4 TDV8 and 5.0 Supercharged, I still prefer the Supercharged because I think it is more refined than the diesel.

of course it is and its also twice as expencive to run "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence. "TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you. |

Well my 3.6TDv8 must be sick then because for the last 3 days, despite having warmed her up with the Park Heat and then driving off with drivers seat heater and heated steering wheel on plus the the heated screens both on I'm getting 32mpg on the 16mile run from home to town and back sat at 60mph on the main road and passing through all the villages at 30. In the Autumn I was lucky to be getting 27-29mpg on the same run with only the Climate Control on....................... something must be about to go wrong with it........... 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

During my test drive with the 4.4 TDV8 I did 21 MPG (13.5 l/100km) and with the 5.0 Supercharged 18 MPG (16l/100km) so not much of a difference really! |

Big let down this morning................... 5 mile drive to the doctor and mainly up hill, -1c and heated everything on and the Park Heat run before leaving home and I had it down to 7.9mpg for the first 3 miles of the trip........... mind on the way back, all downhill, warmed up it was back up to 29mpg on the TC 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

I must say I had very good weather while testdriving the 4.4 TDV8 and was able to properly test the performance whereas I had terrible weather with the 5.0 Supercharged and had to take it easy for safety reasons.
