Heated rear screen help needed.......

I have a 2011 4.4 TDV8 and the rear heated screen doesn’t work, ive pulled fuse 15 and its fine, next things are to change the relay then change the glass, there are 3 lines on the screen that have come away, so would this cause the screen to die? And finally, can anyone tell me where the relay is please ? Semper in merda sumus, solum altum variat !!

if there is a break in the lines then the continuity is broken and the screen wont work..

Mine had a broken earth wire inside the tailgate. Was really obvious once I'd took the plastic panel off.

Hi
I used one of the proprietary silver line repair kits, this worked on mine- it may save you a complete replacement screen. Steve

Just bought the screen repair for my vogue hope to get round to doing this fix soon. I seem to have quite a free breaks in the lines, how long does this take to repair?

Hi
After cleaning the screen and applying the tape -silver coatign, took a couple of hours - I found it better to get into the boot area rather than work upside down. Steve

Thanks was thinking it could take a couple of hours.
Thought the same about sitting in boot being easier.

If the screen itself is not the problem then I am advised that the relay is part of a fuse board and is not replaceable on its own. Still it is only £500+ for the fuse board...... Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Censored Censored Censored Censored Bish.
