How do I know there is Adaptive Dynamics? I read that the Autobiography models had it as standard!? |

It was not fitted to TDV6 models in any derivative. |

Whilst the TDV6-engined L405s don't have what LR called Adaptive Dynamics on the L405, all L405 have CVDs. On the L322, CVDs were called Adaptive Dynamics. CVDs go soft / wear like normal dampers with usage but because they are fitted with a computer-controlled valve, the electronics makes them firm for cornering, a feature not available on normal dampers. Hence the vehicle staying relatively flat on corners is no indication that the dampers are worn. Switching off DSC makes the dampers firmer and therefore is a good way to check if the ride improves.

After 6 months two new front struts and front bush changed I am stillhaving the same issue. New struts have slightly improved the ride. Any idea if the height control sensors could be involved in this? Thanks |

1. The only thing I can think of with this is that the suspension control has gone to a default/failsafe setting - my Merc SL55 has a slow suspension leak and eventually the car sets the suspension to a default mode which gives a very soft and wallowy ride - maybe the L405 has a similar setting? Probably needs a fault finding trip to your local indie or main dealer.

Have you tried switching DSC off to see how much of a difference it makes?

Tried switching off DSC but no difference. Not sure where and how I can check the accelerator? Is there such a part? Am now thinking of changing the height sensors just to make sure but I wad also wondering is there a chance the CVD (electronic damper control) module be faulty/slow? Thanks for the help btw cause in Cyprus am on my own in this. |

The accelerometers are part of the CVD system and more for ACE if fitted. My L322 with CVD has 3 and L405s with both CVDs and ACE have 5, so likely that your vehicle has 3 unless your vehicle also has ACE. About the only checking that can be done without a diagnostic tool is to ensure that their mounting screws aren't loose. A specialist diagnostic tool might be able to interrogate the accelerometers to determine if they're reporting appropriately. If all 5 are fitted then 2 in the front, 1 each side and 1 in the boot, but if no ACE then the side ones are unlikely to be fitted.

Hey Graeme thanks a lot for the support here. I did change the front struts to Arnott when I thought that was the issue and they cost half the price but didn't think it was necessary to change the rear (Arnott dont supply rear struts for L405 yet) In any case my tyres are brand new and I have 20'' wheels car has 50K miles on it. I am now considering the accelerator calibration/replacement cause it sounds like it could be an issue. Bear in mind though that the car car corners ok from what I can understand (dont know if was better when New)
