After receiving approval for the tailgate, my FF finally goes in on Monday for the new panel to be painted/fitted. Existing trim/screen etc gets refitted, but new screen seal and upper badges.

2006, Ford came along and bought the tin worm with them... I don't know if they changed suppliers, procedures or what, but the post interior facelift cars are far worse for rust then the pre internal facelifts in approx 2006/7 |

On my '52 plate both sides of the lower arches were extremely bad (pushed finger through )so I had the old metal cut out and new metal welded in and then paint - also for the rot on the tailgate - prices £370 each side for arches and £230 for the tailgate . I am extremely pleased with the result and you would not know it was not original Since treated with copious amounts of Waxoyl and Bilthamber The company that did my work was Just car clinic |

Maybe search for the thread "skinned quarter" which shows the sort of thing. Note the comment that this section of the car is structural and hence need to weld in, I expect it's not a cheap job, especially in the context of a car with the level of rust to need it. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

If you have the right tools and know what you are doing its a fairly easy job.. just time consuming and weather needs to be right.
