I think you have to be moving and engage cruise control so that queue assist comes on automatically. I would love to know if there is a way to do this when stationary though. |

As far as I'm aware, you need to be moving and have a cruise speed already selected to do it.

whilst I like the concept of queue assist - and yes you need to be brave while you learn to trust that it will stop, I find the whole implementation of it rather crude. It often waits ages before moving off after the car in front has moved off and when it brakes, it brakes really firmly until at a stand still - there is no feathering the brakes or finessing the brake force applied. As such you come to a standstill with quite a jolt each time.

Agreed on the jerk-on-stop. I tend to use it either when I'm alone in the car or take over if the queue is stopping.

I agree with your findings, can be a bit jerky much like the adaptive cruise. That sometimes can be quite sudden with braking and acceleration and certainly little finesse. Put's me off using both systems unless the traffic is moving at a reasonably constant speed or the queues are not too much stop start. |

I have found the cruise to be pretty good but keeps you too far from the car in front, shame about the queue assist could be a great feature just the usual poorly executed LR algorithm |

Have you adjusted the distance to the minimum setting? |

Tried the queue assist in a basic model Golf , it was a joy ,flexible ,smooth and just well designed .Such a shame the electrics on a range rover let it down again and again and again . |

I find it only jerk stops the first time and then not uncomfortably. After this it slows earlier and creeps towards the car in front as if waiting for it to move forward so it can pull away smoothly without stopping. If the car in front doesn't move it slows to a smooth stop. The engine then stops and I need to use the accelerator to restart the engine and just start moving forward again. It won't do this on it's own when cars in front pull away.
