Heated seat not working

My drivers seat has stopped working. I get the two lights on the button, then they go out.

The question I want to ask is: Do I need to remove the whole seat or can I remove just the seat base whilst the seat is still bolted in?
Before I do either, I intend to "bell" the wires for continuity to confirm it is a broken circuit. Which wires supply the element on the plug underneath the seat?

Many Thanks In advance

Hi Andy, much easier to remove seat - its not that difficult tbh. The wires are buried at the back and the rear cover has to come off as well so easier to do on a bench or table.

I did a write up which i in the wiki if it helps.
