The FV432 had a pedal(where clutch would be)in case of run away.

Experienced this briefly on a iveco van when it holed a piston. But a lot cheaper to fix...

Did not put into Nuteral, was driving up 25% narrow Road and I was more worried about what was happening and trying to push the stop button to turn off. (Which I now know was not going to do anything) when finally stopped car was in park.

The main point was not stopped in drive with the engine flat out and the brakes on which could damage parts, park, neutral or moving along the transmission I would think will be ok. BMW i3 Electric Car

I have not seen the video diagonosis that has been sent to JLR but was told on phone the likely cause was a turbo breakup which then sucked oil out of engine to keep the engine spinning faster and faster till it destroyed itself and finally stopped.

Not happy about it especially when I had recently been looking at a new 124K Autobiography. I will be waiting to see how this pans out before ordering a new one.

Please can you confirm if it has had the turbo drain mod, either as a factory fit before delivery , or if done as a modification by the dealer at a later date, .

I would have thought you would have a very strong case against Land Rover, it must have been defective at time time of sale for this to have happened. No matter what the manufacturers say, the law takes on a very different view, I'm not sure of the exact details with cars but with electrical goods, many manufacturers give 12 months, some 24 months but the reality is 6 years! Ive just had a Samsung TV replace under warranty after 5 years. The supplier told me 2 years and that was the end of it, I involved trading standards, EU law states 6 years and the deed was done. BMW i3 Electric Car

I have asked re turbo mod but have not got it stripped down as yet. Balance between finding out contributions from JLR or ploughing ahead on my own.

LTB00524V6 for too many DPF regens lists VIN upper limit of 160137 as being caused by the single secondary turbo drain but perhaps the later drain was retro-fitted anyway. The isolation valve should have closed as soon as the throttle pedal was released or the engine was switched off so not a foregone conclusion as the cause even if fitted with the earlier style drain.

The later TSB showed-up when looking for V3 of the original L322 LTB00513. V3 lists the L405 VIN range for the smoke issue.

The secondary turbo inlet isolation valve, sometimes called a shut-off valve, is normally closed stopping air from getting into the secondary turbo. It is opened under ecm control via a solenoid only when the ecm determines that the secondary turbo is required. Driver demand (throttle pedal input) is the primary criteria, not engine revs.
