Towbar Electrics

Managed to get a genune Westfalia towbar from the bay of E, complete with electrics. Unfortunately, the electrics are 12N only (black trailer socket), so I am going to need to get a new loom for the 13 pin connections on the caravan. My question is, is the electronics module the same for all 3 available electric set ups (Land rover list 3, 12N only (trailer connector), 12n + 12S (older caravans with the 2 plugs), and 13 pin for the more modern caravans). The electronics module I have is marked as follows:-

AHM II 12V
BMW 61.35-6 955 253
SIEMENS VDO
5WK10250B
HW02 SW01

A140503

If the same module is used for the 13 pin wiring loom, I can just buy the new loom, and use the existing module with it, selling the 7 pin loom on the bay of E. If the module is different, then I will need to get a new loom and module, and sell the whole 7 pin set, loom and module, on the Bay of E.

Vehicle is a 56 reg 4.4 V8 Vogue.

Grateful for any advice Confused

IIRC as long as its the correct module for your vehicle thats all that matters.

The electrics that plug in are the only thing that differ though plugging them in requires stripping one or two plastic panels from the boot floor to do it right Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Don't forget you'll need the extra relay and wiring for the caravan fridge/charging system.http://www.westfalia-automotive.de/fileadm...391101.pdf Ian

Another question - forgive my ignorance but I am still learning about my FF. Embarassed

Apparently, I have the Jag AJV8 4.4L engine, with the six speed box. Will the BMW module still work, or will it be different? I am assuming that as towing electrics are not engine related, Land Rover would have just continued using the BMW module? Question 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

I need to do the same on mine (2011 4.4). It currently has a single black socket but want to convert to 13pin.
Does anyone know if its a simple case of replacing with a new loom (will go OEM) and retain the existing module?
I have access to an IID Pro if it needs anything changing in the settings.
TIA

On a 2011 you only need to order the loom sir... There is NO module on 09> Rob

The plug is against the rear panel at the rear of the spare wheel hole👍

Some have had a good experience with PF Jones. I, and lots of others, didn't.

Check trusted trader reviews.
