Well mine isnt pretty when it's smoking, I was told a good independent would charge circa £1000 to do it, I havent managed to find one yet that will do it. Duckworths quoted £2500, crazy money. If anyone could recommend a good independent Id appreciate it, I am willing to travel and stay overnight if needs be. Mine never seemed to suffer from this issue until a couple of weeks ago when I accelerated sharpish to join a dual carriageway on a short slip road. Blimey. It was like something out of a James Bond film! Massive amounts of smoke!

Weirdly, I do the same manoeuvre daily and it's not done it before or since. Not sure quite what to make of it!

i can understand the whole drive it above 2500rpm daily to stop the oil build up as that way the oil is being burnt off in insignificant amounts and probably not noticeable. but where is the oil its burning coming from..... Cheers

It may be just worth you keeping a close eye on the engine oil level.

Last time I serviced mine I accidentally put 1/2 a cup full too much oil in when I re-filled it.
It is so easy to put too much in because of the change in reading between cold oil and hot oil.
It should read at least one full section from max when the oil is cold, or it will say “overfilled” when it gets hot.

Booked into Green Oval, they were very responsive, they agreed it sounded like the problem, 24th it goes in, they said 2 days just be safe because its a 7hr + job.
