Flappy paddles not working

Not towing when it happened
60000 miles 4.4tdv8.
Just had potatoes up the M42 from brum to derby in traffic at 60.

Got home fine, didn’t seem to affect it too much driving wise, went out for a couple more runs but the message didn’t re appear. Can’t think what could actually cause the box to overheat in those circumstances..... so am thinking bogus message?

Anyone had this/or any ideas?? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Was the torque converter locked up?

Possibly a bad connection on temp sensor?

Fault codes ? BMW i3 Electric Car

I don’t think I have ever read any posts re gearbox problems.
Presumably you have checked for any error codes on iid ?

Yep, will have a look at that in the AM Mike.

Not sure if the converter was locked up or not. Do we know if there is a thermostat in the system?

Edit.... seen that now looking at the pipework on microcat it comes as part of the pipe.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Can you decode the ‘just had potatoes up the m42’ ?

Does that mean bimbling along all the way , or driving like you stole it until Brum when you slowed due to traffic?

I read another post recently saying they got a gearbox overheat message..

Will have a hunt for that..

Don’t have an IId so plugged in my el cheapo diagnostic and got no codes, but i don’t know if it reads the gearbox module.

Stan - Thought I remembered something. It’s due a box oil and filter change so I will order some fluid and a trans filter from Dan. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Have gone through the ZF site and it come up as a 1087.298.364
Lr Part no is LR065238

Is there anyway to double check between the 2 that they are one and the same ?
