After Market Deployable Side Steps

Recently took some elderly relations who have shrunk a bit over the years out and about for the day.
Even with car at lowest height setting they still struggled to get in and out.
Am considering a set of deployable (deplorable) side steps as an assist.
See new sets advertised on flea bay for between £1300 to £2500.
Some of the ads are contradictory in stating they have RR on the step then further on stating they don't?
Are the £1300 sets the same as the dearer ones just without the badge?
Any one bought them and are they any good?
Thanks in advance for any input.

I too would be interested in these as my wife has trouble getting in and out of mine as does my dear old mum. The dealership had a sale recently with 20% off but it still meant £2500 fitted which is a bit too much for my sense of value to accept. I may have to bite the bullet and do it eventually but may have a chat with the Duckworths lads first.

Wow Shocked
That's a lot compared to the approx £400 price many places have been selling genuine LR L322 deployable side steps for!

They’re current so they charge a moat cleaning amount for them!

the L322 steps are a reasonable price cos LR had loads in stock and the production of the L322 had stopped..

wait till the year 2030 and yours will come down in price..

as for aftermarket deployable steps, i dont think anyone would have made those ..

I'm checking with the sellers (Direct 4x4) to see if they are OEM (which I doubt) or pattern parts. I am also checking if they need to be enabled which originals do as they are controlled from the Infotainment to deploy if you want to reach the roof with the door shut. They don't have the RR inscription on them.

Response as follows

Thanks for your e-mail.
These deployable side steps are made to be like the ones you would purchase from Land Rover, they are not genuine parts.
You will get a 12 month warranty
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Been looking on line.
There is a company in Bristol Pegasus 4x4 who supply and fit the deployable steps.
Price supply only £995 +VAT
Fitting £395.00 + VAT apparently takes 5 x hours?
From the video on the web site of the steps in action they look ok and can be locked open?
Possibly a bit bowey in the middle?
Do the OEM ones give a little if you stand in the middle?
Anybody had any dealings with Pegasus 4x4 of Bristol good , bad or otherwise?

I just don't fancy non LR bits personally. I don't know why as they're bound to be better.

I had LR fit originals fit to my car. Hell of a job to fit, rear if car in bits.
The switches are installed so you can lock them out and looks like original factory fit.
Steps didn’t bend at all.
Bearing in mind that car has to be jacked on these I wouldn’t be comfortable with non OEM.
Just my thoughts.

I didn't think you were supposed to jack up on them. The instructions with mine spoke of a supplied Allen key to enable removal of just the step part for jacking with a note saying do not jack on steps.

Mine were fit by LR and instructions were to lock them in position with switch and then use them for jacking.

Allen screws......sounds like ones you were sold were not originals?
