That will teach me to look closer at the model. I thought it was a continuation of the L322 thread with a similar title.
sorry for confusion guys.
Good to know they sorted the L322 jacking issue with the 405 though.

When I sat down and worked it all out taking into consideration my time wasted travelling, fuel used etc there was about £700.00 to be saved by going after market with the Pegasus steps which looked to be the best of these type.
The LR OEM steps come with 2 x year warranty and avoid any future argument in regard to after market parts being fitted if anything goes wrong. There is a value to this but not easy to quantify unless you do have a problem.
So I bit the bullet and booked the car in and had the LR steps and a detachable (receiver type) tow bar fitted in one hit. OUCH Big Cry

I was intending to leave the steps switched off only to be used when carrying wobblies in the car.
I was advised that if the steps were left unused they are prone to seizing up so have left them switched on.
So far I have hit my shins on them once.
I find they are good when getting out of the car especially when the car is not in access mode.
I tended to step over them when getting into the car at first, but now sometimes use them getting in but I have to duck down.
My other half thinks they are great and they make washing the roof a lot easier.
They can be turned on and off fairly easily using the touch screen.
Will have to wait for comments from the wobblies next time I take them out to see if it was money well spent or not?

My car is a 2017MY with the updated touchscreen (no buttons at side of screen).
If you scroll the screen sideways to the left the deployable step box comes up on the 3rd screen (or at least it does on mine).
Hope this helps.

Those that have installed these....can you tell me where the harness comes through the body of the car to the underside on each side? I’ve taken litterly the entire cargo/trunk of mine and got each side of my harness pushed thRough underneath the carpet/leather seat bolster trim (Piece that butts up to the aluminum door sill/tread) on each side of the car. Both L and R has a grommet to seal up and weatherproof where it goes through to the underside but I’m not seeing a hole...is it under the aluminum door sills? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC
