I find it so strange.. with all this technical electrical wizardry b Censored ks , we all are reliant on a piece of painted plastic you might of had in the 1960’s.... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

This is something I too was about to investigate, missing the blast of warm air on my cold hands in the morning once the 'stat opened up (wot I used to get in the '02 TD6). Don't seem to be getting much of anything out of the side vents either (although the little demist vents are kicking out warm air). This is with system set on auto with dot light and smile light on on the button, and AC on. .

A bit more testing this morning, in auto mode with centre wheel on full red, I get a trickle of warm air, with drivers setting on 22. If I turn drivers setting up to 28 I get no hot air ? .

I had this on my 2004 V8 petrol. Even CTC count fix it. It's to do with the coolant pipe/switch providing hot water for the air interchange. try removing the big pollen filter under the windscreen and re-seating/re-fitting.

that cured it for me. Thumbs Up

Update from me

On a short (1/2 drive) to work, once temp reaches normal if I press the face level vents button I get lovely warm air (thumb wheel to red. But nothing if on full auto.

On a longer run after @ 45 minutes I started to get a gentle flow of warm air from the face level vents on auto.

Too much AI Evil or Very Mad .

Funny enough I was having a bit of a play with it on my last trip down to Cardiff and what I have is cold air always coming from the vent which is on top of the dash in the centre so maybe next weekend I will have glove box etc all out and see what is what will keep you posted on the findings
