has anyone ever managed to buy one of those chinese copy lookeylikey keys and manage to set it up using the gap iid tool?

if so could you point me to exact key that was purchased and programming guide

nb must be for 2007 car

I think the transponder chips change between vehicles and dates and that causes the no programme issue

looking like no one has managed to do this then?

done all the searches that are possible

hence the question and my comment re transponder changes , due to the fact we went from bmw to flip and then different security measures its a bit of a 'mare to find which transponder is fitted to a 2007 car , all the vendors will tell you 'yes it will work' until you end up with a load of keys that are only good for opening the door

update

after a bit of info. from another forum member , it turns out the key sold to me as for my car is not the correct one , for info for 2007 facelift to 2009 we need the key with transponder pcf9741 id 46 , no other will work.

so time to buy another key with the correct gubbins inside and give that a go.

If that doesn't work I'm going to give up - maybe

Agree with the transponder details, i purchased this one - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292663432009 - which is the wrong blade but still correct transponder pcf9741 id46 although no luck and get the E07 error on the IID tool.

Have had correspondence with a guy in s africa who had programmed lots of keys to range rovers but never to a 2007- 2009 model using all sorts of key programmers.
I did send a pm to daveo as he appears to know the situation but he's dissappeared from here.

I got the e7 error too
Tried all versions of firmware on the iid tool , did get the new key to start the car on a couple of occasions but suspect the transponder doesnt hold the info and reverts back to unreadable from the car after key removal

I programmed an eBay key for my old D3 using the IID and it worked perfectly. The key was visually the same as the key for my new RR 2008 but I'm not sure about the transponder chip.

I'm keen to make a spare key for the RR so let us know if you find the right one.

I have a 2007 with fixed key is that what you have as i have a spare chip

the 2007-2009 keys are a pain, even if you got an ID46 chip it won't program with IID

I am able to supply any keys you need for any land rover feel free to PM for more details
