An itch that needs to be scratched?

Many regulars on here might remember that I sold my beloved FFRR last September and bought a Jag F Pace. A nice car, had no trouble with it (yet) and it drives well. But.... you don’t waft along serenely like you do in a fatty.

Anyway, I find myself in a rather good position. My last bonus was more than double what I expected and after squirreling away the max ISA amount I still have a large chunk of cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I am contemplating a return to FF ownership. I know I’ll take a hit on the Jag, but you only live once! I’ve always hankered after a big petrol V8, so I’m looking at 2-3 year old cars on the LRAU site. Would appreciate any pointers on what to look out for from current owners, but I do have a few questions

Would 2015MY cars have ICTPro?
I like the turbine wheels, but what are the best tyres on these rims?
What is the standard spec on 2015my onwards? I’m trying to work out what the extras are in cars I see.

Budget is around £60k and it has to be dark coloured with light coloured interior. I’ve seen a few on the site, but haven’t yet spotted ‘the one’!

Looking forward to the replies.

Andy

Might be stating the obvious here Andy:

22" L405 wheels tend to be shod with Continental CrossContact LX Sport tyres.

If you were configuring a brand new 5.0 petrol you can order the 525bhp Autobiography or the 565bhp SV Autobiography.

There is a 550bhp 5.0 engine. Approved used for the 550bhp start around £118k on the LR website.

Approved used 5.0 at the price range you are looking at will be 510bhp. A quick look on the LR UK website shows approx 20 cars aged between 2013 and 2017 with this engine. The starting spec for the 5.0 is Autobiography, whether SWB or LWB and obviously extras can be spec'd. 2015 cars for sale at around the £60k mark.

The 2015 brochure I have shows In Control apps and wifi as options, even on ABs. IC remote and IC secure were standard for three years, presumably a subscription fee payable thereafter.

Perhaps LR Customer Relations could help with the standard AB specs 2015 - 2017, there were various 'model years/part years' in that period, so perhaps difficult for forum members to summarise them all. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Current LR website says:

‘InControl Touch Pro is the most advanced multimedia system Land Rover has ever offered, designed to make driving more enjoyable.

Debuting on all 2017 Land Rover models.’

Totally O/T here but I got her indoors a lovely new VSE in Dec, have just finished cleaning it after 6 hrs at work and wondered around it admiring it thinking “lovely motor but, I hope I can get a V8 petrol one next before we are all forced to go electric”

I know if I test drove a V8 500 odd HP FF I would buy one!

More recently the factory have been fitting Pirelli - I’m very happy with my conti’s though Thumbs Up

275 40 22 is the size - any deviation from that size or those brands and I’d walk away - but I’m a tyre snob Whistle

Tbh I've been thinking exactly the same, however if I get the chance for a toy again soon I think I might just keep the 3.0 and get the towbar fitted.

I like big screen RSE and Kurled finish on the SV's but tbh I think a good spec 5.0 2017 with the newer screen is probably my budget.

I think electric will be the way forward if I have to pull in the budget and put it in the company within 2 years so a 5.0 wouldn't work so can't get the choice wrong either or it could be a sore one!!

Be keen to hear how you get on.

If I sound confused then it's because I pretty much am around the next model choice!! all smug in my new plug!

Itch now well and truly scratched!

As noted I’ve been keeping an eye out for a new fattie. Well, last Friday I saw this on LRAU, and today I agreed deal. 65 plate Oct 15 car, Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 with 24k miles on it. One private owner car supplied new by same dealer and it ticks pretty much all my boxes. All being well pick up next Saturday after accessories fitted.

Can’t wait!

Looks very nice at first glance - but the more I look the more I realise it’s green Shocked

Not for me but appreciate that it’s a popular colour 👍

Yep, its Aintree Green, the colour I wanted, trim I wanted and turbines. I like dark greens, dark blues or black and light interiors. Not everyone’s choice perhaps, but each to their own.

But those people that like green tend to feel strongly about it and I’m one of them Very Happy

That’s a very nice looking example Thumbs Up

The car I’ve gone for is the exact colour combo that I wanted. Would have gone for a 5.0 sc if in that colour but I couldn’t find one. Price on this car was also good. Really looking forward to getting it!
