United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Bonatti Grey
Towing electrics

Hi everyone.

First post. Had LR's for years starting with a Ninety TD, followed by a succession of Disco 300TDI, Disco 2 TD5.and then a Disco 3 TDV6.

Just taken the plunge for a 59 plate RR vogue TDV8 and I love it. What a beast. I thought the Disco 3 was good to drive, but this is a whole other level.

Over the first few days thought the drivetrain was quite "lumpy" at slow speeds....especially on the overrun. It stopped if popped into neutral. Had a megaflush on the box and all seems good again

Next job is to put a tow bar and electrics on.

Have the genuine 13 pin electrics and, following the instructions, they tell me to plug them in to a connector in the spare wheelwell.

Of course, nothing is ever simple for me. I don't seem to have a connector to plug into.

Am I looking in the wrong place? Is it hidden somewhere to pull out?do I need some sort of ecu/loom? Multiple searches seem to just tell me that the facelifted models don't need anything else apart from the exterior kit.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Been out in the rain.

Might it be tucked up if it's never been used?

Found this plug...

.but don't want to go tugging if its a connector for something else.

Thanks

It only has a brake light signal i.e. on / off, not sure what signals your electric brakes need. BMW i3 Electric Car

Mechanical over run brakes. As the vehicle slows down, the coupling compresses and that applies the brakes. BMW i3 Electric Car

Most are cable - there’s is a requirement for the trailer to have a cable or rod handbrake, so it’s easier to use the same cable for the main brake.

I have an American boat trailer with hydraulic brakes and that seems a much better system, albeit I have no handbrake
