My 1st post here. I've been lurking and absorbing lots of helpful information on here.

I recently bought my first range rover. A 2010 autobiography 5.0 supercharged. I'm really enjoying my new purchase.

Am slowly working out how everything works, but I have a question that I'm struggling to resolve.

Mine has the rear entertainment system, with the square remote in the rear centre armrest. But it looks like there is something missing.

Should there be anything in the space that I'm pointing to? Is there a 2nd remote or similar?

I'm keen to find it out, as if something is missing, I can lean on the supplying dealer to provide one.

Now i know what it looks like. I'll see if I can find a part number

Well, don't start me on remotes.... what is so difficult about looking after things that serve a purpose????

I have an additional remote in that space.. It came with the car and I've never used the rear entertainment ( kids all grown up) so can't shed any more light on it.

If you do find out what the difference is between the two then please let us know!

Take a look at an alpine RUE-4191

It looks exactly the same except it's not alpine branded.

I'm not sure what it does differently to the touch screen remote though. Too many toys, not enough time

Does anyone know what it does? (that the other remote doesn't do?)

Not really, it’s just a remote for the DVD player, but I imagine it’s more convenient to use that than mess with the touchscreen in the front whilst a film is playing.

Suppose if you try changing chapters and pausing etc with the other remote you’ll see how fiddly it is. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The smaller remote is for the older system from 2009 and before, it doesn't work with the new system however the remote does happen to fit perfectly in the slot.
did you ever get the remote to work with the new system as remote from my 2008 does not work with my 2011.
