Hi all.

I needed to disconnect my battery today and on reconnecting it, an alarm sounds and the engine will not start. the lights come on and all the rest but the engine is dead.
I have noticed that the interior lighting and gear selector lights do not illuminate, neither does the Immobilizer LED flash.

I have tried a hard reset of the ECU but no use. I suspect the immobilizer.

Please help!!

Check your battery connections and battery condition - suggest put on charge  .

Can you plug it into diagnostics ?
I used to lose sync between the EWS module and Engine ECU on my 4.4 which needed to be reprogrammed using testbook or faultmate or similar. This happened if I disconnected the battery. You would have a fault logged in the immobiliser system.

Hi, the diagnostic does not work either. all the interior lights, immobilizer led and diagnostic are dead it would seem.

I checked the immobilizer fuses but they were OK, could it be others?

Reference Joe90's post above, what voltage does your battery have, can you try jump starting from another vehicle and check battery connections?
If you look in rave there are fuses behind the glove box and in the ECU box under the bonnet but battery condition would be the first thing to check.

Have you tried disconecting battery to reset ?

Hooray, progress!! Checked Battery -OK, then went through fuse box and found 2 blown diagnostic fuses.

Now, anyone know anything about changing out a Gearbox ECU?

I have recently bought the vehicle. the seller told me that it needed to be replaced and sent it with.

He said it is plug and play and to me the process seems pretty straight forward but.....I have learned the hard way that such things are seldom as straight forward as they seem, so just checking.

Are you getting gearbox problems / fault messages / limp mode?

Hi Yes I am.

I have a Hawk eye and a Fault finder FCR. any suggestions which one is better?

I put my battery on charge for the past 2 days and it seems to have rectified the problem i.e it is starting now, but there are all sorts of warning lights (ABS, EtC etc) glowing now as well as the messages you mentioned.

Have you done a steering wheel lock to lock, these tend to clear the "Christmas tree" effect after a battery disconnection? .
