If the dilution rate is low it will set off sensor also. You might have too weal coolant. |

The dilution or specific gravity has no bearing at all on the sensor. The sensor can be removed from the bottom of the expansion tank without any loss of coolant as it is a magnetic reed switch. If the reed switch tests ok you will need to invest in a new expansion tank, I believe from past experience the magnet on the float becomes weak and gives false alarms. If the reed switch is faulty you can buy a new sensor or just solder in a new 10p reed switch

Thanks guys.Problem is that before change water pump all were ok.Problem appears when car refilled with new coolant liquid |

Car is 2004 model.Would you please tell me what is the correct cooling liquid.Is it the texaco afc or the havoline xlc or can be used any of them
