Can I have some help pls, I have read through wiki and I'm a bit confused
Going to change the gearbox oil on my TDV8 2008 and want some advice
So, no to mega flush, empty oil, refill and empty, then refill again?
What oil?
Any other bits I will need, filter ect

Best to Megaflush really because by the time you have drained, refilled, drained and refilled again you will be at the price of a Megaflush and yet you still won't of changed 100% of oil..

However the above link is where I have got my oil and sumps etc from in the past.. Current Family:

My mate has his own garage and will let me use a ramp at the weekend, so it looks like an easy job, is that correct. (I am preety good with a spanner)

So, spoke with a gearbox specialists who said that he always replaces the sump pan with a steel one with separate filter, as they break and you have to jack the engine up slightly to get the pan off and back on.
All in with the correct oil and new sump £400.00

What do you guys think,about right or talking ****

If you had a Disco 3, Disco 4 or RRS with the crossmember getting in the way then, fair enough, you might want to swap over to the metal sump to make future filter changes easier. On an L322, though, it’s pointless. Won’t do any harm, just totally unnecessary.

As Phil says, you don't need to use the metal sump on a FFRR, access is easy - there is no crossmember in the way.
From my recent experience, you can get out 6.5 litres from the 6 speed g.box, during a normal empty & re-fill.
I didn't think a megaflush was worth on it on that basis. Then the cost is approx £140 for the correct ZF fluid & £60 for the plastic sump pan / filter if you're swopping the filter as well. Paul,

That's why I ask,
Will do that, get the zf oil new pan and plug from my local LR indy specialist and do it in my mates Garage
