Rear suspension bags/shocks - how long do they last?

Rear suspension bags - how long do they last?

I am asking as I will be replacing the fronts after one failed due to old age. For those who have changed the fronts did the rears ever go?
If you did change the rear bags, did you change the rear shocks at the same time?

I know it is not common as there does not seem to be much on it in the forum. Just trying to predict any big expenses i could be looking at.

Ours is a late 2006 TDV8 with 125,000 miles. The rear airbags do look like they're original (Conti) - as did everything else except the ARB links.
The rear dampers definitely look original & have the bare minimum of damping & 1 side has slight oil misting at the top of the lower section under the dust shield, visible when jacked fully up (& not when at normal ride height).
The fronts look they may have been done, but I'm not positive that's the case - as so few other bits have been replaced in it's life. Paul,

Thanks gang! Thumbs Up

@Craig when you do see them going what sort of age/miles are they showing?

@Joe90 what sort of miles are you on with the 02?

My 05 is just over 100k and did 16k+ with me in the last two years.
I plan on keeping it for a long time. so i guess i wouldnt mind keeping a set of rears as back up.

One of my front airbags went about 18 months ago. My indy suggested replacing both and when I asked about the rears he said same as Craig, we rarely have to replace rears so I wouldn't worry. Not Galway but Balmoral green actually

Thanks. I hope I do not end up having to do mine in NZ where parts seem to be about double UK prices!
