I have been troubleshooting a P0232 crank no start or start but run for a minute or so. Sometimes a P025C would also be present.
To cut a very long story short, I discovered a hidden kill switch. When off, it would cut the supply to the FPDM or fuel pump driver module (that controls the fuel pump) thus not allowing the engine to run. When on, it would feed the FPDM and the engine would run.
With mine, the on condition had deteriorated from a zero ohms good connection to a high resistance poor connection. Sometimes the fuel pump would run, sometimes not.
The installation of the kill switch looked semi professional with original looking cloth tape wrapping the wires. However, the electrical connections were simply twisted wires with no soldered connections or crimps. The glue of the cloth tape had seeped into the twisted wires causing a goo mess and deteriorating the connections. I removed the mod wiring, cleaned the original wires and used a Wago to make the fuel pump connection for the time being.
I appreciate the original post is 6 years ago, but I wonder if this kill switch mod was a reaction to thefts back in 2010 or so, and performed on many RR's? Are there others out there? For the OP he might have had the same mod, but the on condition was enough to run the fuel pump but deteriorated enough to throw a fault code? 2010 5.0 SC Autobiography Overfinch in Bentley Silk White pearlescent, 22" Overfinch wheels with 285/35x22 tyres
