Spent a good few hours yesterday trying to get my off side rear electric window working. It hasn't work since we have owned the car.

I originally swapped the rear window switches around as a test which made no difference so the other day I did a wiring test and noted that I had 12 volts going to the motor so presuming the regulator / motor was at fault I ordered a replacement.

It arrived and I soon discovered that the glass needed to be removed from the frame in order for the regulator to be fitted so as a precaution I tested the new regulator before I went any further. New regulator was showing the same symptoms!

I started checking the wiring again which was showing a burst of 12 volts with the switch pressed then would trip out to nothing. Tried messing with the anti trap sensor etc but still no joy.

Just as I was about to give up I got some juddering movement when pressing the down button then the window would fly back up when pressing up.

Messed around with the switch for a bit and I'm now getting perfect up and down of the window every time! 18 months plus that hasn't worked for and now I can't get it to fail! I've no idea what actually fixed it but I'm not complaining!!


Anyway O/S/R window regulator will shortly be for sale in the classifieds lol.

Driven from Cannes to St Malo in France to catch this mornings ferry back to Jersey.
Got home and kids to school only 30 minutes late .
Now time for some sleep before tomorrow's job of removing all the dead fly's and giving it a good clean

Went to pick up a new tumble dryer for mother in law, miss the way the rear parcel shelf stored at the back of the back seat on the p38 had to lay it across the back seat instead.

Finally got Overfinch sill infills painted/fitted:

Learner driver training with my 16 year old son.

Fitted new tailgate straps, on the back burner for a long while.

Attended to a few stone chips, scrapes, and discovered the mystical powers of a 'Magic Sponge/Eraser'...

Not that I used it on the leather seats, but particularly grubby bits like the armrests, door cards and boot trim came up a treat Absolute god send to those of us with a parchment/ivory coloured interior.

Drove home from Cornwall to Cambridgeshire after week away in Bude.

Fatty has been an absolute dream and ate up the 850 miles we did over the week without skipping a beat, although it was a bit hairy down some of the narrow lanes and SWMBO thinks we should go away in her MX-5 next time...until I told her she'd struggle to get her shoes in that, let alone the 10 outfits she took on holiday that came home unworn.

Number one son has had it for past two weeks up in Cumbria, while his Golf gets some TLC.

Had a locking wheel nut removed! Forcefully.
