Car in at main dealers for some investigation work by Landrover Technical.

One of the things amongst others I've been told they are doing, is "resetting the fuel trims".

I'm fairly mechanically minded but never heard of this...anyone know what they mean or what it is?

What engine do you have and current mileage ? interested due to my own issue with oil dilution with diesel during the DPF regeneration process on my 6 month old RR.

I would have though that you will have a short and long term fuel trim.

By resetting these LR can then see if there is an issue with your car if they are re-checked and are out of manufacturers specification.

"Fuel trim" is relating to the air/ fuel ratio entering the cylinder head.

so in old fashioned speak they are simply resetting the mixture back to factory standard before the ECU "learns" optimum based on road usage / driver demand etc.

To a point yes , but I presume that the car has an issue and this is one way to check your air/fuel ratio Alex
