Well, Rangie was trailered off to a local transmission specialist this morning, now waiting for a phone call to tell me a) what's wrong and b) how much it'll cost to put it right - and it's very difficult to type with all your fingers crossed! 😉 L322 TDV8 4.4 - current

Doonhamer, i had the same gearbox failure about 6 years ago and paid £2,000 for the same as what you are getting (mine was at a local auto box specialist) so your price is pretty good |

Peter - just over 130,000 on the clock so I suppose I've done fairly well out of mine, although I've only had it for nine months. No tow hitch so it's never been used as a tug and only one service entry ref transmission oil change (done the year before last).

It's back! Collected on Friday and spent the past couple of days - apart from Sat which was annual compulsory visit to Twickenham to watch Army v. Navy rugby - giving it a bit of a run-in and check, looking good so far.
