Thinking of fitting a power boosting chip thingy?

Possibly not the most rigorous test of the Torquing Diesel CRD Digital Delphi but thought you might be interested.

Relatively easy to fit as you 'simply' plug it into the existing wiring*.
Improves performance slightly**.
Improves fuel economy slightly***.

*You have to undo the two bolts that hold the air box/ valance thing at the back of the engine bay and pull that out. Once you have done that you can reach down the back of the engine and reach the wire you need to unplug and plug into the unit. The unit itself can then be threaded into relative safety out of the main engine bay and into the boxed off area in the top left.

** For me 0 - 70mph dropped from 9.9 to 9.5

*** The same 20 mile route with a mix of A road, B road and Motorway driving gently and smoothly average mpg went from 27.3mpg to 28.5mpg

ALL SPEED TESTS WERE ON A CLOSED PRIVATE ROAD

If want to go down this route then Bluespark boxes are way better. I've tested lots over the years and recommend them over others.
Way cheaper than this too.. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Grofus, have you ever used a bluespark on a td6?

Mine only does short commutes so I'm looking at trying to up the mpg a bit.

On the end of the clip you mentioned that you would talk to the suppliers as there wasn't a big difference, would be interested to no there reply!

@grofus do you know the added torque and bhp from the blue spark ? how do these compare to an actual map? are they any worse/better for the car?

I've not fitted one to a TD6 but I have on a TDV8 . The thing just picked up instantly and I was very impressed.
I removed it to have a remap done but only because I wanted to map out EGR's. Performance was very similar. It's the low down grunt you notice most. The several cars I fitted one to have all improved and can recommend them. The Bluespark boxes also have a turbo boost version which work even better. I had one on an XF -s. 3.0 v6. That upped the power from around 276bhp to 335bhp but the torque increase was unreal.
Take a look at the website for the power increases. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal
