Strange CD Player problem

My CD Player (Clarior 6CD Unit) recently stopped working, in that it wouldn't load the CDs but just came up with 'Invalid Disc'. Gave the unit a bash, as suggested in other posts and it worked for a short while, before going belly up again.
Gave the unit a blast out with compressed air and it now loads all the CDs. However, it will now only play the first 1 minute of the first song and then stops, does this on all the CDs.
Have I possibly got something jammed in the drive, or is there a belt that has come off and is stopping the head from moving across the CD?
Has anybody taken the Clarion Unit apart and has any information or even photos to shed any light on the matter. Don't want to remove the dash unnecessarily, just to discover the CD Unit is FUBAR and needs replacing, but if repairable would be happy to do that.

Bit of a resurrection I know, but I have the same problem, did anyone get to the bottom of this?

I started stripping down the dash to get the CD player out, but turned out to be a PITA. Gave up in the end and just got an FM radio emulator and ipod for my music. Replaced my fattie last year with a newer 4.4 TDV8 so didn't bother with the old cd player in the end.
As mentioned, the FM radio emulator/ipod may be an easier option, but if you want to strip down the CD player, you need to remove the dash top and a few other bits to get access. Then it's a case of trying to repair the old CD player or just getting a second hand (working) replacement unit.

@Bluespanner, just noticed you have a 2012 Vogue SE, so you may be better off using the USB or aux/ipod connection in the Centre Console cubby to plug in an ipod or similar device for your music. Thumbs Up

Cd changer

I have replaced my cd changer twice now invalid disc issue.
It first began with original player would stop playing slightly after a minute into song.
The last unit I purchased used I put in and started playing but it too stopped playing a minute into a song. Now it just reads invalid disc. Right back where I started! Any chance it’s another part of the entertainment system? Or do I just keep getting bad cd changers?

Ikam, I doubt it'll be anything other than the CD player at fault. If you still have the original unit you took out I'd see if anyone local to you can strip down and possibly repair it, then you know you have a good player.
EDIT: we have a guy here in the UK who can repair these units, so there's a good possibility there'll be someone in Canada who can do the same. Any audio / hi-fi repair shop should be able to help out.
