2006 4.2 supercharged engine removal

A manifold bolt sheared and the exhaust is blowing, i cannot get at it to repair it so it seems the engine has to come out. Can the engine be removed without removing the subframe (this is the model with subframes not a chassis.)

Unless it is different for the SC, RAVE is showing a fairly straightforward procedure to access and remove the manifolds. Surely it is worth a try, going to be much easier than taking the engine out! .

The bolt has sheared off and it needs drilling out so it would be impossible to get a drill in

Just had similar on one of my bikes ... i got a nut and welded it to the sheared stud , so if you can get a mig torch in there I’d give it a go before pulling the lump 4.2 SC - sold , now bought back
