Hi just got my RR L322 2011 and I love it, was looking to lower the standard ride height thou, I've manually checked the current heights (from the centre hub), which are...

Driver Front-475mm / Pass Front-495 / Driver Rear-475 / Pass Rear-475 (will have to sort FL to matchup)

Now from my understanding these measurements may suggest that this has been lowered already when I compare them to the very useful ride height chart floating around on this forum (credit to the maker)...or have I got this wrong?

Can anyone pls tell me what they have their measurements at after lowering/recalibrating?
Appreciate any help.

Well you should be 493 front and 483 rear, but there can be a variance/tolerance of up to 10mm either way when recalibrating, on each corner.

You will need proper diagnostic equipment to recalibrate - IIDTool / AllComms or Indie Garage.

LR Stealers will be £90-£120 just to look at it, before doing any work, so worthwhile getting a tool and doing it yourself. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

tricky to tell as unless you are parked on completely flat and level ground, there can be discrepancies.

your 495 measurement is pretty close to front standard and you aren't much out on the rear either.

Personally I wouldn't bother lowering it. if you want it to look cool when parked then put it in access mode, when driving you can't see it. As its on Air the difference in cornering etc is nill, and simply being lower by a few mm wont change the driving experience.

There are a few ways of lowering the cars, the easiest is simple recalibration with an Iid tool, but you can get modified sensor links which fool the car into thinking it is sitting too high and getting it to adjust accordingly.

Personally I would leave as is and just park it in access mode.  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I lowered my running height by 15mm all round using the IID tool as it just looked too high.

It appears to corner a bit flatter now but the ride is considerably harsher and I'm only on 20 inch wheels.

I'm in two minds whether to put it back to standard but it does look a lot better.

Ok thanks guys..was thinking of lowering as read some say it handles better and plants better on the road. But on 22” so maybe not the best thing to do regards harsh ride!
I’ve have the diagnostic kit already to use due having a 2010 sport.
I’m sure I’ll more questions as time goes by.

If you have the ability to lower it via an IID tool or similar then just try it and see if you like it.

It only takes a minute or two to do and the same for reversal.

Mine definitely corners better just a little harsher over pot holes and speed bumps.

as Paul says , as the GAP iidtool saves the original config on activation you can revert if you dont like the new heights or if you mess it up .. ... - .- -.

We went out shopping last night and knowing the car park was flat I took the tape measure and IID tool with me.

Going off joe90's measurements, I measured from the centre of the hub to the top of the wheel arch and sure enough it was appropriately 15mm lower all round than standard meaning the base height was actually correct.

I plugged the IID tool in and raised it 15mm back to standard height and drove it half a mile back home.... then plugged the IID back in and lowered it again.

It was marginally less harsher when hitting bumps, cornering was noticeably worse but most importantly the 20 inch wheels looked tiny at standard height.

I'll be leaving it lowered by 15mm.

Hi all the llD tool has anyone got a make and model. My suspension is different on all corners on a flat service. I want it to be standard height as I think it is around 20mm low all round and access mode doesn’t work or it doesn’t level out properly when been parked for a while. It’s a L322. Any help much appreciated.
