I've paid a deposit on this car today and I'm very happy with my choice - It's a 2016/66 12k miles on the clock - I Love the car and the colour combo (Ruffina Red with Ivory / Shadow Walnut).

It's been sold to me as an Autobiography model...... It has the AB rear centre headrest, illuminated AB door plates, rear AB tailgate badge etc.

However, having looked at the spec on TOPIX tonight, (while still a very high spec), there's no mention of Soft Close Doors or Blind Spot Assist - I thought Soft Close Doors were standard on the SE model, so would certainly have expected to see them on an AB! (or am I missing them in the coding?)

Although I could well be wrong. I’m sure I read somewhere that soft close doors were only standard AB fit for 2013-2015. After that they became an optional extra.

Thanks ilard and Feagle_uk - I did as you suggested and typed the Reg No in to Autotrader, and sure enough it does come up as an Auto-B SDV8 2016...... Good thinking!

I guess I'll have to wait and see about the Soft Close Doors when I collect, I'll be slightly disappointed if they did make it an optional extra on that MY, but will no doubt learn to live without them.

Soft door close was standard on Vogue SE and up in MY2016 & MY2017 (dunno about before then) so if it does not appear to have it then it’ll be a fault.

Anyway I can’t wait to see pictures of this special paint colour. Very rare.

I've looked down the Autobiography spec list and it's supposed to have soft close doors and blind spot assist, strange it's not mentioned on Topix though - Maybe I'm missing something, or it's classed as being part of a pack

If it helps, the topix list for my AB doesn’t list soft close doors nor blind spot assist but the car certainly has them

Mystery resolved surrounding the Blind Spot Assist I think - The clever one in our house (AKA wife), has established that something called CTA is listed (Cross Traffic Alert), which is basically another term for, Blind Spot Assist.

Soft close is one of the things I didn’t think I really required , the car just had it. Turns out to be a really really neat feature.

Only one issue, doesn’t come with soft closing training for Mrs Bill, nor passengers who continue to slam the doors...

If anyone fromJLR reads this, perhaps a discreet little sign embossed into the leather will assist those that don’t know.  Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
