England 2018 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Corris Grey
Boy hood dream comes to pass

I’ve always wanted a FFRR and that day is now fast approaching, I take delivery of a brand new Vogue in early April. It’s taken me 56 years to get here and I am hoping I won’t regret it.

The switch to Range Rover didn’t get off to a very good start and due to awful customer service nearly didn’t happen at all.
Having had Mercedes for the best part of twenty years I am used to being treated with contempt by main dealers. I thought MB exceled in arrogance and rudeness, but I have to say they have a lot to learn from the Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Peterborough. I arrived for my pre-arranged appointment to be totally ignored and left standing at the reception by members of staff who whilst glancing in my direction continued with a non-work related conversation. After five minutes or more I decided to leave, and only then was I approached by a young lad. The salesperson who I had the appointment with told the young lad that he didn’t know anything about my appointment and was too busy so “you crack on” To be fair to the young man, he was very embarrassed and did he’s best but as he had only worked there for a couple of weeks he didn’t know much about the product or able to answer most of my questions. I told him I was interested in one of their ex demonstration FFRR’s or possibly new.

After the test drive we talked about prices, and my E class as a possible part exchange. The offered PX price was far less than the official CAP trade valuation, laughable at best and insulting at worst.

I left with a promise of a call the next day from someone who had authority to discuss prices, after waiting two days I called and was told I would get a return call within the hour, nothing. A few days later the young lad called and asked what I wanted to do!!! After explaining I hadn’t spoken to anyone except him he promised a call, again within the hour. That call never came.

If it hadn’t been for a chance conversation with a friend of mine who has a Vogue and said he had had great service and would get his local Land Rover dealer in Milton Keynes to give me a call I would not be writing this.

The difference between the two dealerships has been night and day. I can’t fault the Milton Keynes dealership so far, and consequently placed an order for a brand new although MY17 model Vogue. The specification is 99% what I wanted and a huge saving over the MY18 model. I have never been a fan of being first to take a new model generation anyway as from past experience with Mercedes, Ducati and Honda new technology always causes headaches until the bugs are ironed out I so am happy with the MY17 model.

I’m a realist and understand that complicated cars go wrong, so it’s going to be all about the aftersales service. I’m also hopeful my venture into the Jaguar Land Rover family will be a good experience.

If all goes well I can imagine my other half’s SLK will be swopped for an F type within the not too distant future. JLR’s Peterborough dealership need not apply to quote.

I am sorry to hear about your experience and happy to hear that you later came across a good dealer.

I think your experience is shared with a few on here and certainly with me - I changed dealers a couple of years ago and it is like chalk and cheese.

It amazes me how some of them are still in business.

Hello all. After watching the Harry's Garage video I'm now on the lookout for an L322. This site looks like a great resource for information so thought I'd join and say hi!

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Alaska White

Hi all, I've been lurking for some time and decided I should register & say hello. I had a 2003 TD6 Vogue for 3 years, with a few mods (EGR bypass, Bluefin remap) and this site has been great for advice. I upgraded to a 2011 TDV8 4.4 Autobiography a couple of weeks ago - I'll add some pics to the My RR section.

Northern Ireland 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Hi everyone
I would like to introduce myself. I am a retired pensioner with a beautiful Range Rover 3.6 TDV8 Auto in Buckingham Blue. I am a new owner who will undoubtedly be seeking assistance as the days trundle by. I look forward to reading the issues and questions relating to all of the L322’s. Rolling with laughter

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey

Hi everyone, just put down the deposit on a L322 MY11 RR. I'm moving from an S-Class Merc so the RR has big boots to fill. I am quite handy with a spanner and expect I will spend a bit of time under the RR as I have done over my many years with the W221 S-Class. I have a lot of Mercedes collateral from diag tools to online access to all the genuine workshop instructions. I look forward to building up that collateral for the RR, learning and sharing on here.
