Anyone know a good detailer in the Hampshire/Dorset area?

I have taken the plunge with a Black with black pack MY17 AB 4.4 at a very attractive price so looking to get it protected from day one.

Well done Andy .... enjoy..Smile Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I've bought this one blind so not seen it, it's in Scotland at the moment but coming down next week.
I'll post pics once it arrives and the sun's shining like you did.

Andy, if it’s still showing on their web site or AT you can download those pics and upload them here. That’s what did earlier in this thread Wink MY23 D350 HSE

Mines currently unregistered so will be on an 18 plate so not advertised as such, I think it's been a showroom car but was on general release to any dealer.

There are a lot of unused MY17 cars out there so in time there will be some real bargains I think.

Dealt with Westover in Christchurch again, my third new one from them, and they came up trumps, great guys to deal with.

Evening all,

just a word of caution in that there's more than a few rejected 2017s out there due to the problems with infotainment system. I rejected my 2017 and was contacted by the new owner to ask it's history. No surprise that the dealer didn't tell him it was a reject. The car was still having major problems too.

He was straight on to them and to be fair they took it back but it's back up for sale already.

My replacement 2018 arrives Wednesday - fingers crossed this one works!

Cheers,

J

Hello J4cko ,
on numerous occasions and over 20 years of buying JLR products I have yet to come across a a dealer I can trust .Whilst I understand salespeople ( I use the term very loosely ) have to sell , the level of professional shown by them is an embarrassment at best and unethical at worse , considering what a premium product range rovers are there surly be an iota of quality matching product with wide boys and gals that sell the product .

Come on landrover - can't you find decent people to work in your dealerships ?

I have a MY17 coming, this is a new car and I want to make sure it's not a lemon in respect of the infotainment from day one.

As there a re a few rejectors on here Bow down would you mind giving me tips on what to check before I drive away, are there specific tests I should carry out to ensure it's working 100%?
I am going in with eyes wide open and hoping I don't have a duffer otherwise it will be inserted where the sun don't shine at 100mph Thumbs Up

My experience was that everything seemed to work fine initially. About Day 3 the screen went blank and refused to do anything before a full 20 minute shutdown. Then camera faults appeared followed by other systems showing as unavailable. Often the screen froze and was unresponsive but it might go days being fine and then stop.

Crunch point for me was when I was driving down the M5 and the stereo came on full blast and nothing would respond - not the volume control, on off button - nothing. We left at the next exit and pulled into a pub car park next to a very full beer garden and the stereo continued to play at full volume with the car locked for 20 minutes. Much to everyone’s amusement!

I have videos of what went wrong at the time but too big to put up here - message me and we can swap emails and I’d be happy to share.

I work in software engineering and my personal opinion is that it’s error handling that’s at fault. If too many errors are received at any point then the system hangs as it can’t process them all. It was worse if the battery was low at all (a week at the airport for example) and things would fail until the charge was back up. I reckon the software updates have resolved some of this.

Good luck - it’s by no means all cars - the loaner I’ve had since October has been fine.

Cheers,

J
