4.2 supercharged advice

Hi guys!!

I'm new to this forum but have frequented the defender 2 forum for many years.

I'm currently looking to buy my first for, looking for a 4.2 supercharged model, budget is £15k.

I have found one at the vogue centre, covered 80k miles, 56reg but 2007my.

Currently for sale at 14,995.

Just wondering others thoughts, is this a bit steep?

Many thanks

Chris

That’s steep ..
There’s is a premium for the 2007 model year (key in dash), but you’ll find better deals 4.2 SC - sold , now bought back
4.4 AdBlu Tractor - Stolen

It does seem steep tbh......

I paid 14.5k for an 07 plate with only 72k fmdsh last June.

Low-ish miles ones do seem to be getting fewer though.....

I figured this may be the general thought, it is listed as fmdsh, which is a bonus, 6 months warranty and 12 months breakdown.

I could haggle on the price a bit, there just doesn't seem to be many good lowish mileage examples about.

The Vogue Centre seem to have a lot of stock at the moment, I've been looking at 5.0's they've got there.

For your £15k budget, with a bit of haggling I'd imagine you'd get into a 5.0. There's a couple on AutoTrader that look ok that aren't much more then £15k.

The 2007MY is a good sweet spot but I'd not be parting with £15k for one these days, that just seems to much.

This one is a bit newer with a few more miles but has the newer interior, 5.0 engine and will have the later suspension with the adaptive dynamics etc. on it.

I believe it's being sold by a member on here too.

I only paid 15k for mine 4 years ago so that is really a strong price as others have said look at others also remember these vehicles dont like not being used a high miler well looked after would be my preference over a low miler and the main dealer service history means nothing in my opinion - at that age its all about how it feels Thumbs Up

Thanks all for the advice, I think you've all confirmed my thoughts regarding price.

I had seen the 5.0 on auto trader, does anyone know the member on here?

Thanks

The advert for that car says the chains have already been done I believe.

Correct but looking through old posts it seems he had a problem with the chains slipping a tooth and quite a lengthy repair.

I will messaged him shortly.

There's no way you'd get a 5.0 from the Vogue Centre for £15k, looking on AutoTrader and eBay, with a bit of haggling, you'd get into a 5.0 for £15k.

There's one on AutoTrader just now for £15,500 and another for circa £16k.

Depends what you want for your money I guess.
