Hi guys
I have a 2011 61 4.4 tdv8. Needs a new EGR under warranty. Now after reading a few forums people are saying there are two EGRs on this vehicle.
The garage who is replacing it says there is only one, in the centre of the V!
I called Land Rover Preston they said there are two EGR valves,
I called Land Rover Liverpool who took my reg and said there’s only 1 EGR valve.

Who correct? Is there 1 or 2 EGR valves.

The combined EGR valve motor and cooler is located between the V of the cylinder banks. The cooler side of the EGR is
connected to the vehicle cooling system, via hoses. The inlet exhaust side is connected to the exhaust manifolds on each side via a metal pipe which passes from each turbocharger and passes across the rear of the engine. The exhaust gas passes through the cooler and are expelled via the actuator and a metal pipe into the throttle housing. The EGR valve motor is a DC stepper motor with integral position sensor, which is controlled by the engine control module (ECM). The ECM uses the EGR valve motor to control the amount of exhaust gas being recirculated in order to reduce exhaust emissions and combustion noise. The EGR is enabled when the engine is at normal operating temperature and can operate at engine idle or under all part load operating conditions, in both the transient and steady states. EGR only operates in mono-turbo mode and is shut-off before bi-turbo mode is initiated. ... - .- -.

The 3.6 TDV8 has two but I'm sure the 4.4 TDV8 has one.

Bit worrying Land Rover Preston thinks there are two.

It's only 1 egr on the 4.4 because it has sequential turbocharging rather than the parallel set up of the 3.6.
ie only 1 turbo is working to feed both banks of the v8 at the low load / revs when the egr valve does anything.
On the 3.6 each turbo is feeding 1 half of the v8 all the time, so an egr is required for each bank. Paul,

I didn’t buy it from Land Rover. it is under warranty from the garage I bought it.
It’s a lovely car, previous dr owner. Full service history by Land Rover, only done 55k.
I was going to ask about warranties? What’s the best used car warranty available to me? I understand these cars can throw some gremlins at you .
