I've been wondering how normal this is. I have to tell any new passengers "two pulls". But seems quite abnormal for a car. What's the reason for this? Anti hijack system, the thing that locks the doors as you pull off.... you either have to push the unlock button on the dash or double pull the handle.... which is a safety feature just incase the system goes wrong! And I can't remember if they automatically unlock when the engine is turned off, I might be thinking of a different Range Rover from my past |

I see what you are saying. But doesn't literally every other type of car open a locked door with just one handle pull?

Well sort of, the Range Rover will open the door with one handle pull provided the doors are not locked, like first thing in the morning... you jump in the car only to remember that you have left your phone next to your packet of Woodbine's on the grand piano... the door will open with just one pull. But once you have travelled over 5MPH the anti hijack will kick in and lock the car.. you then have to override this with the dash lock control or double tap the handle, and as I said I'm 99% certain that they also unlock when the engine is switched off.

Just a quick update. After days and days of rain, today was a nice sunny day, so time to have a go at the door cable.
